Post-firing reduction in wood shavings

Sally quickly moves slivers of wood around the hot Raku pot to start the post-firing reduction process. The pot is so hot it ignites the wood shavings. The flames and smoke will colour the pot giving the distinctive Raku appearance of dark cracks in a white surface.
