The start of a lovely day, with the mist just rising from the Seine. Early on Sunday morning we were walking towards Notre Dame and snapped this beautifully tranquil scene. It's one of my favourite pictures from our visit to Paris.
After the hurly-burly of travelling to Paris, this was our first full day in the city, and there seems to be a stillness, a cleanness and an anticipation of the day to come, all bound up in this picture. Not the same, but not different to that old Velvet Underground song of the same name.
